Arts education from a kid’s-eye view.

Threespot partnered with ARTSEDGE to promote a number of their cultural and educational programs for kids K-12. Each project resulted in an interactive experience that left the audience more culturally savvy—without ever feeling like a school lecture. For example, we conceptualized and realized “Perfect Pitch” to help students learn about the history of orchestration through a baseball metaphor. In support of the Kennedy Center’s China Festival, Threespot told the story of the ancient art of shadow puppetry by letting users create their own puppet shows in an interactive theater. Japan iPass was an "interactive passport" that we designed for the festival “JAPAN! culture + hyperculture.” The iPass website piqued kids’ interest in the festival exhibits through video and audio features. For the educational series “Arabesque,” Threespot programmed a series of audio mixer sound clips so students could explore different aspects of Arab music.

Threespot’s work for ARTSEDGE has been recognized by the Webbys, I.D. Annual Design Review, and AIGA 50, among others.
